Chemical Peels
A chemical peel is an advanced skin resurfacing procedure designed to accelerate your natural cellular turnover. Your clinician applies a specialized medical-grade chemical solution to the skin, which induces a safe and controlled exfoliation of the damaged outer layers.
By lifting away the buildup of dead skin cells and surface impurities, the treatment stimulates the underlying layers to produce fresh, healthy skin and new collagen. This process is highly customizable, allowing your clinician to select specific acids and strengths tailored to your unique skin concerns.
- Enhanced Radiance: Sweeps away dull, dead skin cells to reveal a brighter and significantly more luminous complexion.
- Improved Texture: Smooths rough patches and reduces the appearance of enlarged pores for a refined skin surface.
- Tone Correction: Helps to fade hyperpigmentation, sun damage, and stubborn dark spots for a more even skin tone.
- Acne Management: Clears congested pores, reduces active breakouts, and helps soften superficial acne scarring.
To ensure a safe and effective procedure, please arrive at the clinic completely makeup-free with a clean face.
Upon your arrival, your clinician will thoroughly cleanse and prep your skin to remove any surface oils or barriers. The chemical peel solution is then carefully applied to the targeted areas in precise layers. You may experience a mild tingling, prickling, or warming sensation while the active ingredients penetrate the skin. Once the optimal level of exfoliation is reached, the solution is neutralized or removed, and calming skincare products are applied to soothe the treated area.
Following your treatment, your skin will likely feel tight and may appear slightly pink or red. Over the next few days, you will experience varying degrees of flaking or visible peeling depending on the depth of the peel.
- The First 24 Hours: Keep your skin dry and avoid applying any makeup. You must also avoid intensive cardiovascular exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and hot showers for 24 hours following your appointment.
- Protect the Peel: You must absolutely not pick, pull, or scrub the shedding skin. Doing so can cause scarring or severe hyperpigmentation. Allow the skin to shed naturally.
- Hydration & Sun Protection: Keep the area deeply hydrated with a basic, gentle moisturizer recommended by your clinician. Strictly avoid direct sun exposure and apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily to protect the fresh, vulnerable skin underneath.
As the natural exfoliation process concludes, you will begin to see a renewed glow. Maximal and optimum results will become visible around 14 days post-treatment, once the peeling has completely finished and the fresh, healthy skin layer has fully surfaced.

How long do the results of a chemical peel last?
The longevity of your results depends on the specific depth of the peel and your dedication to clinical aftercare. A superficial peel provides a beautiful, radiant glow and improved texture that typically lasts for several weeks. A medium-depth peel yields deeper structural improvements, such as softening pigmentation and fine lines, which can last for several months. To maintain optimal skin health and continuous cellular turnover, we highly recommend incorporating a medical-grade peel into your quarterly aesthetic routine.
Does a medical chemical peel hurt?
No, the procedure is not painful. During the application of the chemical solution, you may experience a mild tingling, warmth, or a prickling sensation on the surface of your skin. This is a completely normal reaction and simply indicates that the active acids are effectively penetrating the targeted layers. Your clinician will closely monitor your skin’s response throughout the entire process to ensure your absolute safety and comfort.
Am I a suitable candidate for a chemical peel?
Because our chemical peels are highly customizable, they are suitable for a wide variety of skin types, tones, and specific concerns. Whether you are seeking to correct dullness, manage active acne breakouts, or fade stubborn hyperpigmentation, your clinician can select specific acids tailored to your unique biology. However, a thorough consultation is required to assess any active skin conditions, current prescriptions, and your overall medical history to ensure this is the safest treatment for your skin type.
Will my face peel aggressively, and when can I return to work?
At Zorah Clinic, we utilize advanced medical formulations designed to provide controlled, elegant cellular shedding rather than aggressive, traumatic peeling. A superficial peel may only cause very minor, localized flaking. A medium-depth peel typically involves three to five days of visible shedding. While there is no medical downtime and you can safely return to work immediately, many of our patients prefer to schedule deeper peels around their social commitments to accommodate the visible shedding phase.
How many chemical peel sessions will I need to see a difference?
While a single session provides a brilliant, immediate radiance perfect for an upcoming event, correcting underlying structural concerns requires a phased approach. For treating conditions such as hyperpigmentation, acne management, or sun damage, we typically recommend a prescribed course of three to six sessions spaced two to four weeks apart. Your clinician will design a bespoke treatment plan based entirely on your individual aesthetic goals.
