PRP Undereye

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for the undereye is a highly targeted regenerative treatment designed to address the complex concerns of the tear trough area. The skin beneath the eyes is exceptionally thin and prone to displaying dark circles, fine lines, and volume loss over time.

This treatment utilizes your body’s natural healing mechanisms. Your clinician will extract a small sample of your blood and process it to isolate the PRP, a serum highly concentrated with growth factors. When injected specifically into the delicate undereye tissue, these growth factors stimulate local microcirculation, encourage new collagen production, and naturally thicken the skin to reduce the appearance of dark pooling and hollowness.

  • Brightens Dark Circles: Improves localized blood flow and thickens the dermal layer to visibly reduce dark pigmentation and shadowing under the eyes.
  • Restores Tissue Strength: Stimulates collagen and elastin production to firm and support the exceptionally delicate, thin skin in the tear trough region.
  • Softens Fine Lines: Naturally plumps the tissue to smooth away crepey skin and superficial wrinkles.
  • Highly Biocompatible: Uses only your own natural biological material, completely eliminating the risk of allergic reactions or the “Tyndall effect” (a blueish tint) that can sometimes occur with traditional tear trough fillers.

To ensure a safe and effective procedure, please arrive at the clinic completely makeup-free with a clean face. We highly recommend drinking plenty of water prior to your appointment to assist with the initial blood draw.

Upon your arrival, your clinician will cleanse your skin. Depending on your comfort level, we may apply a topical anesthetic cream to the undereye area prior to the procedure.

Your clinician will perform a standard blood draw from your arm. This sample is immediately processed in our clinical centrifuge to extract the concentrated PRP serum. Once the skin is prepped, the pure PRP is carefully and precisely injected into the undereye area, typically utilizing a micro-cannula or an ultra-fine needle to ensure safety and minimize the risk of bruising in this highly vascular region. Your clinician may also microneedle further PRP into the undereye region.

Following the procedure, it is entirely normal to experience mild swelling, redness, or a feeling of fullness under the eyes. Because the undereye area contains many tiny blood vessels, minor bruising is also a common and expected side effect that will fade naturally.

  • The First 24 Hours: Please do not touch or rub your eyes. You must avoid applying any makeup, concealers, or active eye creams to the treated area to prevent infection.
  • Heat & Exertion: Avoid intensive cardiovascular exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and hot showers for 24 hours following your appointment to help minimize swelling.
  • Sleeping Position: If possible, sleep with your head slightly elevated on an extra pillow for the first night to help reduce natural fluid accumulation under the eyes.

Because PRP relies on your body’s natural cellular regeneration, the results are progressive. While you may see an initial improvement in hydration, maximal and optimum results will become visible 4 to 6 weeks post-treatment, as the fresh collagen networks fully mature and the skin physically thickens and brightens.
