Lip filler
Lip filler is a highly customizable aesthetic treatment that utilizes premium hyaluronic acid gels to enhance, define, and restore structure to the lips. At Zorah Clinic, our approach is rooted in subtle refinement and facial harmony rather than artificial over-enhancement.
Your clinician uses advanced injection techniques to carefully sculpt the lip tissue, addressing concerns such as age-related volume loss, natural asymmetry, poorly defined borders, and fine vertical lip lines. The hyaluronic acid actively binds to water, providing immediate, natural-looking plumpness while deeply hydrating the delicate lip tissue from within.
- Subtle Enhancement: Restores natural volume and softly plumps the lips for a balanced, youthful appearance.
- Defined Borders: Sharpens the vermilion border and Cupid’s bow to improve overall lip shape and prevent lipstick bleeding.
- Corrects Asymmetry: Carefully balances uneven proportions between the top and bottom lip for a harmonious profile.
- Deep Hydration: Hyaluronic acid deeply moisturizes the tissue, smoothing away dry, crepey texture and superficial lines.
To ensure a safe and effective procedure, please arrive at the clinic completely makeup-free and without any lip products applied.
Upon your arrival, your clinician will thoroughly cleanse the treatment area. Because the lips are highly sensitive, we may apply a topical anesthetic cream prior to the procedure to maximize your comfort.
Once the area is fully prepared, your clinician will carefully administer the hyaluronic acid gel using an ultra-fine needle or a micro-cannula. The injection process is meticulous and controlled, allowing your clinician to gradually layer the product to achieve your specific aesthetic goals while maintaining your natural anatomical structure.
Immediately following your treatment, it is entirely normal to experience swelling, tenderness, and minor bruising. The lips are highly vascular and naturally swell more than other facial areas. Please note that this swelling is temporary and will typically peak on the first morning after your procedure.
- The First 24 Hours: Please do not touch, massage, or firmly press your lips. You must completely avoid applying any lipstick, lip gloss, or makeup to the area to prevent infection.
- Heat & Exertion: Avoid intensive cardiovascular exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and hot showers for 24 hours following your appointment to help minimize swelling.
- Food & Drink: Avoid consuming overly hot beverages, spicy foods, and alcohol for the first 24 hours, as these can increase blood flow and exacerbate bruising.
While you will see an immediate change in volume before you leave the clinic, this initial look will include procedure-related swelling. Maximal and optimum results will become visible 2 weeks post-treatment, once all swelling has entirely subsided and the hyaluronic acid gel has naturally integrated with your own tissue.

How long do the results of lip filler last?
The longevity of lip filler typically ranges from 6 to 12 months. Because the lips are a highly dynamic area of the face with constant movement from speaking, smiling, and eating, the hyaluronic acid is naturally metabolized slightly faster than in deep structural areas like the jawline or cheeks. To consistently maintain your beautifully enhanced volume and deep hydration, we generally recommend a subtle refinement session once or twice a year.
Does the lip filler procedure hurt?
The lips are one of the most sensitive areas of the face, but we take every precaution to ensure your absolute comfort. Before your treatment begins, we apply a highly effective, premium topical anesthetic cream to completely numb the surface tissue. Furthermore, our premium dermal fillers contain lidocaine, a built-in local anesthetic that provides additional numbing from the inside as the product is carefully administered. Most patients find the procedure highly tolerable and experience only very mild, brief pinching.
Will my lips look fake, unnatural, or overfilled?
Absolutely not. At Zorah Clinic, our aesthetic philosophy is strictly rooted in subtle, elegant refinement. The artificial “duck lip” appearance is the result of poor clinical technique or excessive, inappropriate product placement. Your clinician will meticulously tailor the treatment to your unique anatomy, using precise micro-droplet techniques to softly enhance your natural shape, define the borders, and restore lost volume without ever compromising the harmonious balance of your facial profile.
What is the downtime, and will my lips swell significantly?
Yes, swelling is a completely normal and expected biological response to lip injections. The lips are highly vascular, meaning they naturally swell much more readily than other areas of the face. This swelling typically peaks on the first morning after your procedure and the lips may temporarily look slightly uneven during this initial healing phase. Minor bruising is also very common. The initial swelling will dramatically reduce within 3 to 5 days, and your beautifully soft, final results will settle completely within 2 weeks.
Can lip filler be dissolved if I have old, migrated product from another clinic?
Yes. Because we strictly use premium hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, the treatment is completely reversible. If you have previously received treatment elsewhere that has resulted in lumps, asymmetry, or filler that has migrated beyond your natural lip border, our expert clinicians can safely dissolve the old product using a specialized prescription enzyme called Hyaluronidase. Once the old filler is successfully cleared and the delicate tissue has healed, we can carefully rebuild your lips using our refined techniques.
