PRP Undereye
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for the undereye is a highly targeted regenerative treatment designed to address the complex concerns of the tear trough area. The skin beneath the eyes is exceptionally thin and prone to displaying dark circles, fine lines, and volume loss over time.
This treatment utilizes your body’s natural healing mechanisms. Your clinician will extract a small sample of your blood and process it to isolate the PRP, a serum highly concentrated with growth factors. When injected specifically into the delicate undereye tissue, these growth factors stimulate local microcirculation, encourage new collagen production, and naturally thicken the skin to reduce the appearance of dark pooling and hollowness.
- Brightens Dark Circles: Improves localized blood flow and thickens the dermal layer to visibly reduce dark pigmentation and shadowing under the eyes.
- Restores Tissue Strength: Stimulates collagen and elastin production to firm and support the exceptionally delicate, thin skin in the tear trough region.
- Softens Fine Lines: Naturally plumps the tissue to smooth away crepey skin and superficial wrinkles.
- Highly Biocompatible: Uses only your own natural biological material, completely eliminating the risk of allergic reactions or the “Tyndall effect” (a blueish tint) that can sometimes occur with traditional tear trough fillers.
To ensure a safe and effective procedure, please arrive at the clinic completely makeup-free with a clean face. We highly recommend drinking plenty of water prior to your appointment to assist with the initial blood draw.
Upon your arrival, your clinician will cleanse your skin. Depending on your comfort level, we may apply a topical anesthetic cream to the undereye area prior to the procedure.
Your clinician will perform a standard blood draw from your arm. This sample is immediately processed in our clinical centrifuge to extract the concentrated PRP serum. Once the skin is prepped, the pure PRP is carefully and precisely injected into the undereye area, typically utilizing a micro-cannula or an ultra-fine needle to ensure safety and minimize the risk of bruising in this highly vascular region. Your clinician may also microneedle further PRP into the undereye region.
Following the procedure, it is entirely normal to experience mild swelling, redness, or a feeling of fullness under the eyes. Because the undereye area contains many tiny blood vessels, minor bruising is also a common and expected side effect that will fade naturally.
- The First 24 Hours: Please do not touch or rub your eyes. You must avoid applying any makeup, concealers, or active eye creams to the treated area to prevent infection.
- Heat & Exertion: Avoid intensive cardiovascular exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and hot showers for 24 hours following your appointment to help minimize swelling.
- Sleeping Position: If possible, sleep with your head slightly elevated on an extra pillow for the first night to help reduce natural fluid accumulation under the eyes.
Because PRP relies on your body’s natural cellular regeneration, the results are progressive. While you may see an initial improvement in hydration, maximal and optimum results will become visible 4 to 6 weeks post-treatment, as the fresh collagen networks fully mature and the skin physically thickens and brightens.

How long do the results of a PRP undereye treatment last?
Once your initial clinical course is complete, results in the tear trough area typically last between 12 to 18 months. Because PRP utilizes your own concentrated growth factors to naturally thicken the delicate undereye skin and improve local microcirculation, the cellular improvements are authentic and long-lasting. To maintain a bright, refreshed appearance and continuously combat the natural aging process, we recommend a single maintenance session every 6 to 12 months.
Does the PRP undereye treatment hurt?
The skin beneath the eyes is exceptionally delicate, but the procedure is highly tolerable. We prioritize your comfort by using ultra-fine needles to administer the serum. Additionally, your clinician may apply a premium topical anesthetic cream to the area before the treatment begins. You may feel a slight pressure as the PRP is placed, but the process is meticulous, fast, and rigorously controlled.
What is the difference between undereye PRP and tear trough filler?
Traditional tear trough fillers use hyaluronic acid gels to physically plump and fill hollows. However, hyaluronic acid naturally draws in water, which can sometimes lead to chronic puffiness or a blueish tint under the skin (known as the Tyndall effect) in this fragile area. PRP does not add physical volume or attract excess water. Instead, it uses your own biological material to naturally regenerate the tissue, fading dark circles and smoothing fine lines without the risk of long-term puffiness or discoloration.
Will my eyes be very puffy or bruised after the treatment?
It is completely normal to experience mild swelling, redness, and a feeling of fullness under the eyes immediately following your procedure. Because the tear trough is a highly vascular area with many tiny blood vessels, minor bruising is also a common and expected reaction. The initial swelling typically subsides within 24 to 48 hours, while any bruising will naturally fade over the following days.
How many sessions will I need to see a difference in my dark circles?
Because PRP is a biological treatment that relies on your own cellular regeneration to rebuild the tissue, a single session is not enough to achieve optimal clinical results. To successfully thicken the delicate skin and significantly brighten dark circles, we highly recommend a targeted course of three to four sessions, spaced three to four weeks apart. Maximal, optimum results will become fully visible 4 to 6 weeks after your final session as the new collagen networks mature and stabilize.
